HISTORY ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

 

 

According to the information received from research and records,the school started on the 02 April 1967 under the leadership of Ms Dwashu as the School’s Principal.There were no classrooms available for Learners and they were attending school at Blair Helen at Upper Mngqesha next to eMadakeni.Mr Blair could be of one these British Settlers/Soldier who were fighting wars of dispossession with Xhosa Speaking people.

Pupils were from all over the Western Cape but mostly from St Boniface School in Middleburg.They used to wear Maroon and Gold Stripes Blazer.Ms Grace Gqokoma took over on 16 July 1968 and was assisted by Ms N.Nyikana (nee Makasi).They travelled from Dimbaza to Blair Helen on foot.The Late Mr D Felila who was the Principal of Blair Helen friendly accommodated them at the school.

 ADMISSION POLICY

1. GRADE R- is age 4 turning 5 by 30 June in the year of admission. He/she must submit the following documents.

• Copy of immunisation record

• Copy of a birth certificate

• ID copy (parent)

2. GRADE 1-is age 5 turning 6 by 30 June in the year of admission. Documents that are needed are as follows:

• Copy of immunisation record

• Copy of a birth certificate

• Progress report from previous school

• ID copy (parent)

3. Other grades (grade 2-7)- All learners should submit the following documents:

• Copy of immunisation record

• Copy of a birth certificate

• Progress report from previous school

• Transfer letter from previous school

• ID copy (parent)NB// No learner will be admitted to the School without issuing a valid birth certificate.
